About

About

PLAYMACHINE

Founded in 2015 by playwright and performance artist Eri Nox, the lab developed and produced Randolph Curtis Rand and Chana Porter's acclaimed Phantasmagoria; or, Let us Seek Death! a co-production with La Mama ETC at the Ellen Stewart Theater; the radioplay and live music podcast, The Parsnip Ship, Seasons 1-3; and I’m Not the One You’re After Henry, a short film co-produced with Business Lunch Productions in association with Extra Credit Studios shot in Paris, France, among other productions and developmental works.

To PLAYMACHINE, ‘theatrical experiences’ encompasses traditional forms of theater and expands to include new media such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and streaming programming.  We thrive at the intersection of performance and live action role playing (LARPing), video games, EDM/rave culture, and other 21st Century forms of participatory experiences, using these varied new media 'to explore futures'--to understand our contemporary society civically and humanistically, its history, and where it is headed through art and expression--diverse in voices but singular in vision for a better tomorrow

PLAYMACHINE operates in residence at Cloud City in Brooklyn, New York.
